Baku: In the first half of this year, the volume of electronic procurements in Azerbaijan reached 1,632.7 million manats, as reported by the State Service for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control to APA-Economics. This represents a 12.2% increase compared to the same period last year.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, electronic procurements have also led to significant savings for the state budget. The amount saved increased by 38.6% compared to the previous year, amounting to 329.2 million manats. During the six-month period, the average number of participants in procurement processes was 3.7, with open tender procedures averaging 4.3 participants and request-for-quotation procedures averaging 3.4 participants. There was a 2.8% overall increase in participants for opened procurements compared to the previous year, with a 7.5% rise in open tenders. However, the average number of participants for quotation request procedures remained the same at 3.4.

Additionally, the Service examined 789 appeals regarding obstacles created by procuring organizations and 239 appeals related to other issues. As a result of identified legislative violations during the competitions, a total of 501 final protocols were annulled.
