Baku: In the first half of 2025, Azerbaijan experienced a notable shift in its investment landscape, as investments in fixed capital reached 8 billion 73.5 million manat. This figure represents a slight decrease of 0.5 percent compared to the same period in the previous year.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the State Statistical Committee reported a significant decline in investments directed toward the oil and gas sector, which fell by 23.8 percent. Conversely, the non-oil and gas sector saw an impressive increase in investment, rising by 13.5 percent, highlighting a strategic pivot in Azerbaijan’s economic focus.
The report further details that out of the total utilized investments, 4,067.9 million manat, or 50.4 percent, were allocated to production sectors. Meanwhile, 2,672.0 million manat, representing 33.1 percent, were invested in service sectors, and 1,333.6 million manat, accounting for 16.5 percent, went into the construction of residential buildings. Domestic investments made up a significant portion, totaling 6,070.0 million manat or 75.2 percent of all investments directed to fixed capital. Additionally, 6,314.3 million manat or 78.2 percent of these investments were specifically earmarked for construction and installation works.
