Volume of Oil Transported via BTC Pipeline in Trkiye Falls by Nearly 4%

ANKARA: The volume of oil transported through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline across Trkiye has seen a decrease of 3.93% in the first nine months of 2024 compared to the same period last year, as reported by Trkiye’s BOTAS company. This decline follows a trend observed in recent years, with 164,926 thousand barrels transported from January to September 2024, down from 171,677 thousand barrels in the previous year.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the total amount of oil transported through the BTC pipeline in 2023 was 228,811 thousand barrels, marking a 1.5% increase over the 2022 figures. The oil transported primarily comes from Azerbaijan’s Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli fields, though it also includes contributions from other producers. This pipeline remains a critical route for oil exports through Trkiye’s territory.
