Baku: Water tariffs in Azerbaijan do not fully cover the actual costs of the United Water Supply Service of Large Cities, Aydin Abbasov, Adviser to the Chairman of the Service’s Board, told journalists.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Abbasov explained that the cost of delivering 1 cubic meter of water to consumers is 1 AZN 91 gapik, whereas the current tariff is only 70 gapik. He stated that this discrepancy hinders rapid development in the water supply sector. Abbasov suggested that the issue of differentiating the tariff system may be brought to the agenda to address these challenges.
