Winners of ‘Baku Marathon 2026’ Determined

Baku: The winner of the "Baku Marathon 2026" held on May 3 at the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation was determined, APA reports. The first male athlete to reach the finish line in the marathon was Ahmet Alkanoglu from Trkiye. Ukrainian racer Vitaliy Shafar came in second, and Kyrgyzstan's Yrskeldi Akerov came in third.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, in the women's race, Elena Tolstykh from Russia took first place, Anna Yusupova from Azerbaijan took second, and Shirin Akimbay from Kazakhstan took third place. This year's Baku Marathon was held for the first time at a full distance of 42 kilometers instead of the usual 21 kilometers, with 25,000 participants taking part in the event.
