World Bank Forecasts Stable Rice Prices with Slight Increase by 2027

Washington: The World Bank has released its latest projections on rice prices, indicating a stable yet slightly increasing trend in the coming years. The updated forecast anticipates that the price of one ton of rice will be 401 US dollars in 2026, remaining consistent with the October forecast from the previous year.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the World Bank's report further predicts that by 2027, the price of rice will rise to 413 US dollars per ton, marking a 4 US dollar increase from the earlier forecast. This price adjustment reflects a 3% increase compared to the previous year, following a 1.7% decrease anticipated in 2026.

The report highlights that the price of one ton of rice was 408 US dollars in 2025. These projections provide crucial insights into the global rice market, influencing economic planning and trade strategies for countries reliant on rice imports and exports.
