Accra:The World Bank Group has successfully mobilized approximately $100 million in private capital for Azerbaijan in fiscal year 2026. This achievement is part of a broader effort to increase private capital mobilization for developing countries, with a global total of $112 billion mobilized by the World Bank Group in the same fiscal year.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the World Bank Group's mobilization efforts in Azerbaijan are guided by the Country Partnership Framework. This framework aims to support the country's transition towards a more competitive and inclusive economy. The objectives include increasing productivity, fostering better jobs, enhancing resilience, and ensuring sustainability.
The partnership framework also emphasizes job creation, development of small and medium enterprises, and access to sustainable finance. It supports initiatives such as the development of the Middle Corridor for trade and transit, improvements in digital infrastructure, and the adoption of emerging technologies like artificial intelligence. Additionally, the framework focuses on scaling up renewable energy, improving water-use efficiency, and continuing efforts to mobilize private capital.
