Shamakhi: Foreign journalists visiting Azerbaijan for the WUF13 participated in a media tour to Shamakhi, organized by the Media Development Agency and the WUF13 Azerbaijan Operations Company. The tour commenced with a visit to the Juma Mosque of Shamakhi, one of the oldest Muslim sanctuaries in Azerbaijan and the broader Middle East. Despite enduring historical challenges and several devastating earthquakes, the mosque, originally built in 743, has maintained its historical and cultural significance.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the restoration process of the Juma Mosque paid particular attention to preserving its historic architectural character and original features. The media tour continued at the Meysari winery complex, where the visiting journalists were introduced to Azerbaijan's rich winemaking heritage. The unique natural and climatic conditions of the Meysari village, such as balanced temperatures and annual rainfall, make it an ideal location for cultivating premium grape varieties.

The final destination of the tour was the village of Demirchiler, known for its blacksmithing heritage. Journalists learned about the history of the settlement, which dates back to the fifteenth century. The village, originally called Guneychay, became known as Demirchiler due to the widespread development of blacksmithing in the area.
