Baku: The next meeting of the WUF13 NGO Coalition was held in a hybrid format on June 13, 2025, with 55 participants from 28 countries engaging in discussions. The main focus of the meeting was ‘2026: Baku – The Road to the 13th World Urban Forum’.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the event was moderated by Ramil Iskanderli, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Azerbaijan National NGO Forum. The discussions centered around how NGOs can be involved in this major global event.
Participants such as Uzodinma Adirieje of the Association of African Health Organizations, Kamel Esseghairi of the Arab Platform for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency, Pradeep Mohapatra of the Indian UDYAMA organization, and Peter Ng’ola Oviti of the Kenyan ‘Wote Youth Development Projects’ shared their experiences and ideas.
The meeting also highlighted the establishment of the Organizing Committee for the Thirteenth Session of the UN World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku, mandated by President Ilham Aliyev. Member of the Board of the UN World Urban Forum, MP Parvana Valiyeva, and expert Amin Mammadov addressed queries from foreign NGOs.
