Katowice: A panel session titled 'When Housing Brings Cities Together Local Cooperation in Practice' was held as part of the 13th Session of the UN World Urban Forum (WUF13). The event gathered international experts, representatives from state institutions, and municipal associations to discuss crucial issues related to housing and urban cooperation.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the panel was moderated by Oday Aljabari, an expert at the Belgian Development Agency. The discussions highlighted that challenges in housing provision extend beyond mere supply shortages. Key issues such as governance, financing, sustainability, and the quality of urban life were addressed. The role of decentralized cooperation, particularly through municipal associations, was emphasized as a practical approach to bridging existing gaps in housing and urban development.

The session also explored the preservation and effectiveness of current cooperation models in housing provision, alongside the need for establishing new partnerships. The speakers underscored the importance of integrated urban planning approaches, which include investments in green public spaces and the creation of inclusive neighborhoods, as vital elements in building more resilient and livable cities.
