WUF13: Routes Where Vehicle Movement Will Be Monitored Announced

Baku: In the lead-up to the thirteenth session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), set to take place in Baku from May 17 to 22, 2026, traffic along designated routes will be monitored to ensure its safe and efficient management, APA reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, as part of a joint monitoring exercise organized by the WUF13 Azerbaijan Operations Company and relevant authorities, temporary traffic restrictions are planned on a number of streets and avenues in Baku from 01:30 to 03:30 overnight between April 11 and 12.

The monitoring will cover Neftchilar Avenue, Yusif Safarov Street, partially Heydar Aliyev Avenue (up to the Sabunchu bridge), Mehdi Huseyn Street, Khojali Avenue, Richard Sorge Street, Zarifa Aliyeva Street, as well as routes leading to the Baku Olympic Stadium, the venue of the event.

Drivers and other road users are advised to plan their travel in advance for the specified date, take into account possible congestion along the mentioned routes, and use alternative roads where possible.

The express bus route operating between Heydar Aliyev International Airport and the city center will continue to function normally and without interruption.

Traffic monitoring ahead of WUF13 has also been applied as part of preparations for a number of global events held in Azerbaijan over the past decade and has been successfully implemented.
