YARAT Contemporary Art Space Illuminates Museum Night 2024 with a Focus on Communication

BAKU: On October 12, YARAT Contemporary Art Space hosted Museum Night 2024, drawing nearly 2,000 attendees to an evening themed around the nuances of communication. This year’s event expanded on the previous theme of understanding our inner world by exploring expressive forms ranging from sound therapy to interactive performances and detective games.

According to Trend News Agency, the event was a constellation of activities designed to engage visitors on multiple levels. The first floor of YARAT Centre featured Ilhama Babayeva’s sound therapy session, emphasizing the therapeutic aspects of sound using singing bowls, vocal yoga, and mantras. This setup provided participants with an immersive experience into the healing properties of auditory stimuli.

Progressing to the second floor, attendees were thrust into “The Creator from the Alleyways,” a detective game presented by Saint Twins Detective, set against a backdrop of 1950s America. Simultaneously, Theater O2’s “5” offered an interactive performance highl
ighting the constraints of social media and promoting the value of direct communication.

The Museum of Azerbaijani Painting of the 20th-21st Centuries hosted two notable events. Leyla Gabulova’s master class, “Unspoken Narratives,” invited guests to channel their emotions into art, while “XITAB,” a performance blending electronic music with traditional elements like tar and ghazal, captivated the audience on the same floor.

The night concluded with powerful live performances by Azerbaijani rap artists Okaber and Neocortex at Baku Boulevard, adjacent to the Azerbaijan Rowing and Canoe Federation. These performances delved into the role of rhythm and lyrics in emotional expression, reinforcing the theme of communication.

The event was supported by several local entities including Baku Boulevard Administration, iTicket platform, Meatadore, United Coffee Beans, and ASAN Radio, ensuring a well-orchestrated and impactful evening.
