As of 1 January this year, 1.419.900 cars were registered in Azerbaijan, of which 1.179.700 had “served” 10 years or more, the State Statistics Committee reported.

Azerbaijan’s vehicle fleet is aging fast. As of the beginning of this year there were only 240.200 cars in operation, the year of production of which dates back to 2013 to 2022.

According to the SSC, 2.1% (30,163 units) of passenger cars in use by individuals as well as state and honest companies are hybrid cars. The number of electric cars is still negligible – 570 units.

In total, as of January 1, 2023 there were 1.645.300 cars in Azerbaijan, 78.500 of which were imported and produced in 2022.
