Khankendi: The creation of Victory Park in Khankendi highlights the resolve of the Azerbaijani people in restoring historical justice and securing their territorial integrity, as well as their heroism during the 44-day Patriotic War, stated Afat Telmangizi, head of public relations for the Restoration, Construction and Management Service in Khankendi, Aghdara, and Khojaly districts to journalists.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Victory Park spans a total of 9 hectares and features 44 steps leading from the entrance to the Victory Arch. Information regarding the war, including the names of liberated settlements, is displayed on boards at the park's center. Details about the 2023 anti-terrorist operation are also recorded on these boards.

Afet Telmangizi highlighted that the Victory Arch stands at 44 meters, symbolizing the duration of the Patriotic War. The structure comprises 10 floors and a terrace, with a construction on the terrace symbolizing the number 8 in connection with Victory Day. The 'Victory Gallery' exhibition hall is situated on the ninth floor.

Extensive landscaping and construction have been undertaken within the park, including the installation of fountains, lighting, and music systems. Special care was taken to preserve existing trees during construction. Over 500 trees, along with more than 11,000 bushes and flowers, have been planted.

The park aims to provide leisure opportunities for Khankendi residents and visitors. The establishment of such recreational areas demonstrates the ongoing successful restoration and construction efforts in the liberated territories, emphasized Afet Telmangizi.

President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended the opening of Victory Park in Khankendi on December 24.
