Zangezur Corridor to Boost Middle Corridor Capacity, Says Turkish Minister

Ankara: The Zangezur Corridor, also known as the Trump Route – TRIPP, is set to significantly enhance the capacity of the Middle Corridor, as stated by Trkiye’s Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloglu, during a television interview.

According to Trend News Agency, the Minister highlighted ongoing efforts to fully leverage the potential of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) railway. In addition, strategic steps are being taken to establish a new route that will connect the western regions of Azerbaijan with the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

Uraloglu revealed that the construction of a 224-kilometer railway from Kars to the border with Nakhchivan is underway. He pointed out that, unlike the existing BTK line, the new Kars-Diluju railway will feature a double-track design, aiming to substantially increase freight traffic volumes.

He further mentioned that various projects focusing on the restoration and modernization of transport infrastructure in Azerbaijan are progressing, with many already successfully completed.
