10th Edition of ‘DokuBaku’ Festival to Feature Mexican Documentary

Baku: The Union of Cinematographers of Azerbaijan (UCA) hosted a meeting with Mexico's Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Victoria Romero, Cultural Attach© Aristeo Gonz¡lez Guerrero, embassy staff member Gunel Hajiyeva, and representatives of the 'DokuBaku' International Documentary Film Festival team. The meeting focused on expanding Azerbaijan-Mexico cooperation in cinema, particularly in documentary filmmaking, strengthening cultural exchanges, fostering creative and professional ties, and exploring opportunities for future joint film projects.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the discussion highlighted the selection of Mexican director Roberto Ortiz's documentary ngeles FC for the DokuKids section of the 10th 'DokuBaku' International Documentary Film Festival. The festival is set to take place in Baku from October 5 to 11 under the theme 'Stellar Civilization'. DokuKids aims to broaden young audiences' horizons by introducing them to different cultures and real-life stories, while also fostering a generation of open-minded and critically-thinking youth.

The meeting also covered arrangements for director Roberto Ortiz's participation in the festival and his visit to Baku. Plans were discussed for a joint workshop and master class involving his participation. This meeting was seen as a significant step toward strengthening cooperation in cinema between Azerbaijan and Mexico, and expanding creative and professional ties between the two countries.

Following the meeting, the guests toured the UCA cinema hall and were briefed on the Union's activities.
