Istanbul: The 10th Political-Level Annual Interregional Meeting within the framework of the Passenger and Cargo Control Program (PCCP) was held in Istanbul, Republic of Trkiye. This event, along with the 7th Expert-Level Meeting of the Interregional Network of Customs Authorities and Port Control Units (IREN), saw participation from various international delegations, including a team led by Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Customs Service Major General Guloghlan Muradli, as reported by the State Customs Committee to APA.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the meetings focused on the Passenger and Cargo Control Program, a collaborative initiative by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the World Customs Organization (WCO). Delegates discussed the program's implementation at national levels and evaluated the outcomes and challenges encountered in Central Asia, the Black Sea, South Caucasus regions, and Pakistan. The discussions also emphasized supporting legal trade and combating drug trafficking within IREN's operational region from 2021 to 2024. Efforts to counter the illegal circulation of synthetic drugs and other related issues were also on the agenda.
