Baku: A total of 1,317 people have been evacuated from the Islamic Republic of Iran to Azerbaijan between 08:00 on February 28 and 10:00 on March 5.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the evacuated individuals include foreign nationals from a wide range of countries.
The evacuation effort saw a significant number of Chinese citizens, totaling 401, making up the largest group. Additionally, 259 Russian citizens and 109 Tajikistan nationals were evacuated. The operation also included 88 citizens of Pakistan and 46 from Oman.
Smaller groups of evacuees consisted of 20 Spanish citizens, 18 from Saudi Arabia, and 11 Iranians. Among other nationalities, there were 9 Georgians, 8 Brazilians, and 7 Belarusians. There were also 6 citizens each from the United Arab Emirates and Slovakia, and 5 each from Serbia and Nigeria.
The operation included 4 citizens each from Jordan, Switzerland, and Japan. The evacuation list further comprised 3 citizens each from Qatar, Bangladesh, Uzbekistan, France, Mexico, the Philippines, and Kazakhstan. Additionally, 2 citizens each from Nepal, Trkiye, Yemen, Kyrgyzstan, Italy, the Czech Republic, the United Kingdom, and Croatia were evacuated.
The list also included one citizen each from Poland, Tunisia, Lebanon, India, Myanmar, the Maldives, South Africa, Cuba, Ukraine, Sweden, and Germany.
