Baku: A total of 1,424 individuals have been evacuated from the Islamic Republic of Iran via Azerbaijan's border crossings.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the evacuation took place between 08:00 on February 28 and 20:00 on March 5. The evacuees included 423 Chinese citizens, 273 Azerbaijani citizens, 262 Russian citizens, 138 Tajik citizens, and 90 Pakistani citizens.
In addition to these groups, citizens from Oman, Italy, Spain, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Georgia, Brazil, Belarus, UAE, Slovakia, Serbia, Nigeria, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Switzerland, and Japan were among those evacuated through Azerbaijan. The process was conducted via Azerbaijani border crossing points, ensuring the safe passage of these individuals.
The evacuation also included citizens from countries such as France, Trkiye, Uzbekistan, Mexico, and Croatia. From 08:00 on February 28 to 18:00 on March 5, a total of 1,341 people were evacuated specifically to Azerbaijan. Among these, 273 were Azerbaijani citizens, highlighting the significant number of local nationals involved in the operation.
The operation involved the evacuation of citizens from a wide range of countries, including Qatar, Bangladesh, Uzbekistan, France, Mexico, the Philippines, Kazakhstan, Trkiye, Croatia, Yemen, Nepal, Kyrgyzstan, Italy, the Czech Republic, and the United Kingdom. Additionally, one citizen each from Poland, Tunisia, Lebanon, India, Myanmar, the Maldives, South Africa, Cuba, Ukraine, Sweden, Germany, and Canada were reported to have been evacuated.
