Baku:A total of 20 individuals were detained for violating Azerbaijan's state border in September 2026.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, the detentions included six Pakistani citizens, four Azerbaijani citizens, four Iranian citizens, two Sri Lankan citizens, one Afghan citizen, one Belarusian citizen, one Georgian citizen, and one Turkish citizen.

Efforts to combat illegal migration led to the detention of 10 people who attempted to cross the border using falsified date stamps and passports, as well as documents belonging to others.

Additionally, 38 individuals were detained for breaching border regime rules, with appropriate measures taken against them.
