Zangilan: There are 165 endangered plant species in Azerbaijan’s liberated territories, said Irada Huseynova, Vice President of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) and a member of the Working Group on Ecological Issues, during a meeting of the working group. The report was provided by APA’s correspondent dispatched to Zangilan.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Huseynova revealed that the endangered species include 119 endemic and subendemic species belonging to 57 families and 99 genera. These species are at risk of extinction, with 34 families and 84 genera represented.
She also highlighted that more than 35 percent of the plants in the Azerbaijani flora are distributed in the Garabagh region.
