16th NATO Days Commence in Baku with Official Delegation Visit

Baku: As part of the 16th NATO Days, a delegation led by Deputy Chief of Staff for the Partnerships Directorate at NATO Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE), Rear Admiral Yusuf Karaglle, paid an official visit to Azerbaijan, MoD told APA. The visit aimed to advance the ongoing Azerbaijan-NATO cooperation, fulfill partnership program commitments, and enhance the exchange of mutual experiences.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the delegation’s itinerary included meetings with the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Military Institute named after Heydar Aliyev, and military units of the Land Forces and Naval Forces. These units include subunits declared under NATO’s Operational Capability Concept (OCC).

During these meetings, the collaboration between Azerbaijan and NATO in contributing to international security was emphasized. The participation of Azerbaijani Army personnel in peacekeeping missions was highlighted as a significant contribution to global security efforts. A
dditionally, Azerbaijan’s involvement in NATO’s Partnership for Peace programme and the achievements under the OCC programme were noted.

The discussions underscored the significance of cooperation in military training and education. Azerbaijani officers’ participation in NATO trainings and headquarters is seen as beneficial for enhancing their operational, command, and military-scientific capabilities. The delegation participated in various briefings and roundtable discussions to further these objectives.

Concluding the 16th NATO Days meetings, both sides exchanged gifts, and photographs were taken to commemorate the visit.
