18th Uzeyir Hajibeyli International Music Festival Kicks Off in Azerbaijan

Baku: September 18 marks the 141st anniversary of the birth of the Azerbaijani composer, Uzeyir Hajibeyli, celebrated with the start of the Uzeyir Hajibeyli International Music Festival. According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the festival, organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Ministry of Culture, has been an annual event since 2009, attracting performers and ensembles globally.

Running from September 18 to 30, the 18th edition of the festival promises a rich program. This year's festivities are not limited to Baku; they extend to other Azerbaijani cities, including Aghjabadi, Ganja, Shusha, Lachin, Aghdam, and Lankaran. These locations will host a variety of events, including concert programs, performances, exhibitions, presentations, and other cultural activities.

Beyond Azerbaijan's borders, the festival will also feature events in Uzbekistan, Germany, and Trkiye. A notable highlight of this year's festival is the 1st Congress of Composers of the Turkic World, scheduled to take place in Baku, adding a significant dimension to the festival's offerings.
