Baku: A total of 192 people were evacuated from the Islamic Republic of Iran to Azerbaijan from 08:00 on February 28 to 22:00 on March 1.
According to Azeri-Press news agency, 82 of the evacuees are Azerbaijani citizens. Additionally, 28 Pakistani, 18 Saudi Arabian, and 18 Chinese citizens were moved to a safe area.
The operation also included the evacuation of 17 Tajik, 6 UAE, 4 Jordanian, 3 Qatari, and 3 Bangladeshi citizens. Furthermore, the evacuation provided passage for 2 Filipinos, 2 Nepalese, and 1 person each from Turkey, Russia, Italy, Poland, Tunisia, Lebanon, India, France, and Brazil.
Earlier reports indicated that 123 people were evacuated by 16:00 on March 1, including 54 Azerbaijani citizens. The operation also involved citizens from Saudi Arabia, China, UAE, Tajikistan, and Jordan, among others. The evacuation efforts were coordinated to ensure the safe passage of individuals from various countries back to Azerbaijan.
