Azerbaijani FM: Zangazur Corridor will lead to acquisition of additional opportunities on Middle Corridor

“Azerbaijan liberated its territories which were under the occupation about 30 years as a result of 44-Day Patriotic War and with this, Azerbaijan fulfilled 4 UN resolutions by itself,” said Azerbaijani Prime Minister Jeyhun Bayramov at the press conference on the results of the Summit meeting of presidents of Azerbaijan, Turkiye, and Turkmenistan, APA reports.

 

The Minister stressed that beside the restoration of historical justice and international law, it also paves the way for new opportunities: “In this sense, number one priority for Azerbaijan is the implementation of restoration, construction work in currently de-occupied territories and provide decent and secure return of around 700 thousand internally displaced people to their homeland”.

 

Azerbaijan is carrying out large-scale restoration and construction works in those areas, and 1.8 billion US dollars have been allocated from the only state budget of 2023. We consider that the implementation of reconstruction and reconstruction works also opens up good opportunities for the implementation of joint works between our countries”.

 

The FM noted that the full operation of the Zangazur Corridor will lead to the acquisition of additional opportunities on the Middle Corridor.

Azerbaijani President: In 2024, the 9th international airport of our country is scheduled to be opened in liberated Lachin.

“Currently, there are 8 international airports operating in Azerbaijan,” said Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev at the Summit of Azerbaijani, Turkish and Turkmen Presidents, APA reports.

 

“President of Turkiye, my dear brother Recep Tayyip Erdogan, attended the opening of Fuzuli and Zangilan airports built in the liberated territories. In 2024, the 9th international airport of our country is scheduled to be opened in liberated Lachin.,” said the President.

President of Azerbaijan invited companies from Turkiye and Turkmenistan to Alat Free Economic Zone

“The Baku International Sea Trade Port has an annual handling capacity of 15 million tons, with funding envisaged to increase its capacity to 25 million tons,” said Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev at the Summit of Azerbaijani, Turkish and Turkmen Presidents, APA reports.

 

“Last year, we laid the foundation of the Alat Free Economic Zone on the shores of the Caspian Sea, and the first residents have already settled there. We would like to invite companies from Turkiye and Turkmenistan to benefit from opportunities available in the Zone,” said the President.

Kremlin: Kyiv sent no proposals for New Year’s ceasefire

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Wednesday that Kyiv did not send any proposals on arranging a New Year’s ceasefire, adding that “such a topic is not on the agenda.”, APA reports citing Teletrader.

 

Meanwhile, Peskov commented that the Russian troops would legitimately target the United States Patriot missile defense systems, should Washington send the aforementioned equipment to Kyiv.

 

Nevertheless, he cautioned that these statements shouldn’t be commented on yet before anything is officially confirmed by relevant authorities as “these are all media reports,” and nowadays such reports might prove to be “an unreliable thing.”

Azerbaijani President: Karabakh Victory created favorable opportunities for new projects in region

“At the end of 2020, as a result of the victory in the 44-day Patriotic War, our lands were liberated from the 30-year occupation by Armenia. “Currently, the world is facing new challenges and threats, and therefore, along with other spheres, expansion of cooperation between our countries in the areas of security, defense, and defense industry is of great importance.

“The Shusha Declaration signed with Turkiye last year elevated our relations to the level of strategic alliance,” said Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev at the Summit of Azerbaijani, Turkish and Turkmen Presidents, APA reports.

 

“In 2017 the Declaration on Strategic Partnership was signed between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan. Our countries provide mutual support and cooperate with each other within the framework of international organizations, including the UN, Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Organization of Turkic States, OSCE and other institutions,” noted the President.
