203 People Evacuated from Jeddah to Azerbaijan

Baku: Citizens from the State of Qatar, the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia were transported to Jeddah by buses organized by diplomatic missions, as reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to APA. A total of 203 people, including two Azerbaijanis holding Russian citizenship and one Azerbaijani with Georgian citizenship, were evacuated and returned to Azerbaijan on March 7, 2026, via an AZAL Jeddah-Baku flight.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, with Saudi Arabia being a primary destination for evacuation, 193 Azerbaijani citizens, along with nine Azerbaijani citizens of Georgia and five Azerbaijani citizens of Russia, were evacuated from Jeddah on March 4, 2026. This evacuation was conducted through a special flight operated by Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), bringing the total to 207 people.

Due to the situation in the Middle East, flights were canceled, prompting the safe evacuation of citizens by Azerbaijan from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to Baku, as reported by APA. The evacuation was carried out using an AZAL-owned 'Boeing 787 Dreamliner' aircraft, which successfully landed at Heydar Aliyev International Airport, ensuring the return of over 200 citizens to the country.
