21st Annual Meeting of Valdai International Discussion Club Begins in Sochi.


Sochi: The 21st Annual Meeting of the Valdai International Discussion Club commenced in Russia’s Sochi on November 4, gathering experts, political scientists, and journalists from around the world to engage in discussions on global issues. This year’s theme, “Lasting Peace On What Basis? Common Security and Equal Opportunities for Development in the 21st Century,” highlights the forum’s focus on promoting non-Western perspectives on global challenges.

According to Trend News Agency, the conference will run until November 7, featuring participation from 140 individuals representing 50 different countries. Among the notable speakers is Ilgar Huseynov, General Director of Trend News Agency, who will address the forum during a session titled “Habitat: Shared by Everyone, Each Uniquely.” His report will center on the upcoming COP29 in Baku and Azerbaijan’s environmental policies.

The Valdai Forum aims to challenge the notion that leading developed nations have a monopoly on defining development goals. Discussion
s will cover key global topics such as ecology, inequality, artificial intelligence, and conflict resolution. Established in 2004, the Valdai Club serves as an international platform for exchanging opinions and analyzing international trends in politics, economics, security, and global challenges.

The forum attracts high-ranking Russian officials, including the President of Russia, and garners significant media attention worldwide. Over the years, the Valdai Club has expanded its format to include diverse topics like economic cooperation, security, and multipolarity in international relations, offering a platform for dialogue among representatives from various countries.
