3,983 Individuals Missing Due to Armenia’s Military Aggression Against Azerbaijan


Baku: As a result of Armenia’s military aggression against Azerbaijan, 3,983 individuals have been registered as missing persons, said Gazanfar Ahmadov, the Secretary of the State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The announcement was made during the presentation of the “Assessment Report: Accounting for Missing Persons in the Republic of Azerbaijan” by the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP), which was organized by the State Commission for Prisoners of War, Hostages, and Missing Persons.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Secretary of the State Commission provided a detailed breakdown of the missing individuals. Out of the 3,983 missing persons, 3,209 are military personnel, while 774 are civilians. Furthermore, 285 of the missing individuals are women. Ahmadov emphasized that as a result of Armenia’s military actions, 1,702 individuals have been registered by the Commission as persons freed from captivity or hostage, among whom 419 are military personnel. The data indicates a higher number of civilians being taken captive or held hostage.
