4 People on International Wanted List Extradited to Azerbaijan

Baku: Four more individuals put on an international wanted list have been extradited to Azerbaijan, the Prosecutor General’s Office told APA.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the extradition requests were granted by the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation in line with the ‘Convention on Legal Assistance and Legal Relations in Civil, Family and Criminal Matters’ dated October 7, 2002. This action concerns Azerbaijani citizens Anar Elmar oglu Yolchuyev, Reyhan Mirbala gizi Melikli, Zamiq Qurbanali oglu Aslanov, and Elshan Musa oglu Zakharov.

The individuals faced substantiated suspicions of committing criminal acts under relevant articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan. As a result, decisions were made to prosecute them, and they were placed on an international wanted list due to fleeing the investigation and hiding.

These individuals, detained on the territory of the Russian Federation, were escorted back to Azerbaijan by the Special Convoy Unit of the Ministry of Justice’s Penitentiary Service.
