Prosecutor General Highlights Heydar Aliyev’s Role in Azerbaijan’s Statehood


Baku: Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev emphasized the pivotal role of Heydar Aliyev in preserving and rebuilding Azerbaijan as a legal, democratic, and independent state during the 20th and 21st centuries. His comments were made during an event commemorating the 102nd anniversary of Heydar Aliyev’s birth and the inauguration of a new wing at the Baku City Prosecutor’s Office.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Kamran Aliyev highlighted the significance of the 1995 Constitution, which was adopted under Heydar Aliyev’s leadership. This constitution laid the legal groundwork for Azerbaijan’s independent statehood. He also mentioned President Ilham Aliyev’s declaration of 2025 as the ‘Year of Constitution and Sovereignty,’ underscoring its importance for understanding and reinforcing the fundamental principles of the Azerbaijani state.
