Baku:The 4th Baku Security Forum, themed 'Contemporary Challenges in the Global Security Architecture and Establishment of the Effective Counterterrorism Cooperation Mechanisms,' took place in Baku. The event was organized by the State Security Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan and saw participation from heads and high-ranking representatives of international organizations, special services, and security agencies from over 100 countries.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the forum commenced with an official opening, including a message from the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, which was read to the participants. A video presentation highlighted the forum's significance and activities.

Colonel-General Ali Naghiyev, Chief of the State Security Service, welcomed attendees and praised the forum's growth since its inception, initiated by the President. He emphasized the forum's role as a pivotal platform for dialogue among special services and security agencies, allowing for professional discussions on current security challenges.

Ali Naghiyev noted the transformation of the international security system and the inadequacy of traditional mechanisms in addressing new threats. He stressed the importance of reliable partnerships and collaboration in tackling transboundary challenges, which affect regional processes, energy markets, and food security.

A side event, 'Strengthening National Counter-Terrorism Capabilities through Operational Partnerships,' was co-organized by the State Security Service and the UN Office of Counter-Terrorism. This session focused on the importance of coordination mechanisms to combat terrorist threats using modern technologies and introduced the development of the Counter-Terrorism Information Exchange System as part of the forum.
