Baku:Majnun Mammadov, Azerbaijan's Minister of Agriculture, met with Viorel Gutu, Assistant Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and Regional Representative for Europe and Central Asia.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the meeting focused on exchanging views to ensure sustainable development in Azerbaijan's agrarian sector. Discussions included strengthening food security and implementing new support mechanisms for agricultural producers.

The talks also addressed issues related to the 'State Program for the Development of Agricultural, Fisheries, and Aquaculture Production and Processing Sectors in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2026-2030.' Both parties acknowledged the importance of projects implemented in collaboration with the FAO.

The officials emphasized the significance of ongoing cooperation under the FAO-Azerbaijan Partnership Programme, highlighting the substantial contribution these projects could make to the development of Azerbaijan's agricultural sector.
