Nakhchivan: Projects worth £5 million will be implemented for municipalities in Azerbaijan within the framework of the Covenant of Mayors, said the initiative's Local Sustainable Development Coordinator, Maksym Vereshchak, at an event held in Nakhchivan related to the "Covenant of Mayors - Eastern Partnership" initiative, APA-Economics reports.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, assistance is being provided to six municipalities in Azerbaijan in preparing projects under the Covenant of Mayors. Maksym Vereshchak stated, "In order to bring the projects to a state ready for financing, we conducted energy audits of residential and public buildings for them. As a result, we now have 11 documents for 11 buildings that we can present to potential investors. The total value of these projects exceeds £5 million."

He added that the projects are being implemented in Mingachevir, Khirdalan, Sheki, Yevlakh, Ganja, and Shamakhi.
