Baku: In 2025, 64 stateless persons were granted citizenship of the Republic of Azerbaijan by the relevant Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, APA reports. This development was highlighted in the 'Report on the activities of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2025,' which was reviewed during today's session of the Milli Majlis.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the report detailed that out of the 64 individuals, 21 were stateless persons, while 43 were classified as persons of unknown citizenship. The initiative reflects the government's ongoing efforts to offer stateless individuals a sense of belonging and legal identity within the country.
Additionally, the report noted efforts to assist foreigners and stateless individuals in adapting to life in Azerbaijan. A total of 2,015 applications were registered in the reporting period for courses conducted by the Service's training center. These courses aim to educate participants in the Azerbaijani language, history, culture, and migration legislation, further facilitating their integration into Azerbaijani society.
