Antalya:The 77th International Astronautical Congress (IAC 2026) is currently taking place in Antalya, featuring a variety of panel discussions, sessions, and astronaut meetings, with delegations from numerous countries participating in the event.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the congress included a special session focused on Trkiye's space vision and its upcoming Moon mission. During this session, Yusuf Kiraç, President of the Turkish Space Agency, emphasized plans to launch a spacecraft to the Moon in 2027, which aims to study solar wind, water formation, magnetic fields, and thermal structures on the lunar surface.
A significant event scheduled for October 7 is the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Azerbaijan's Azercosmos and the International Institute of Space Law (IISL). This agreement aims to enhance international cooperation in the domain of space law.
Azerbaijan has a substantial presence at the congress, represented by a large delegation, and has achieved a notable distinction by ranking second among 108 countries that submitted a total of 814 scientific reports.
