Azerbaijan Requests DNA Samples from Armenia for Identification of Discovered Remains

Baku:Azerbaijan has requested that Armenia provide DNA samples to help identify human remains found in liberated territories, believed to be those of Armenian servicemen.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, Ali Naghiyev, Chief of the State Security Service and Chairman of the State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons, announced the proposal during the Fourth International Conference held in Baku as part of the Baku Dialogue on Missing Persons.

Naghiyev stated that examinations conducted on the remains found no match with the DNA profiles of 50 ethnic Armenians reported missing and submitted by Armenia in January 2026.
