Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts (ASUCA) hosted a charity exhibition dedicated to the 112th anniversary of the Seaside Boulevard by students of the Faculty of Arts.
This was reported to AZERTAC by the university. It was noted that the event was opened by the rector of the Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, Professor Jeyran Mahmudov, who informed about the purpose of the charity exhibition. Rector stressed that Baku Boulevard has always been one of the main themes of our artists: “Students of the Academy of Arts and Sciences of Azerbaijan regularly participate in plein air as a joint project of the University and the Seaside Boulevard Office, reflecting the beautiful boulevard landscapes in their works. Today’s sales exhibition is organized for charity. Thus, the proceeds from the exhibition will be transferred to the account of the YASHAT Foundation. We believe that such projects will be sustainable. ”
Speaking at the event, Deputy Chairman of the Seaside Boulevard Office Agajan Ahmadov, on behalf of his organization, thanked the leadership of the Academy and the faculty and students of the Faculty of Arts for such attention to the anniversary of Baku Boulevard.
Rashad Jabbarov, the artistic director of the project, noted that each of the artist students took part in the project with special enthusiasm and interest, creating beautiful works in different genres and from each other.
The coordinator of the project, Dean of the Faculty of Arts of the Academy of Arts and Sciences of Azerbaijan Sevil Karimova said that Baku Boulevard, which has become an oasis since its inception, has a special, inspiring atmosphere. The history of its development and design is directly connected with the life and pulse of Baku. Baku Boulevard has always been a central theme in our national art. Different angles of our seaside crescent in the works of Azerbaijani artists reflect the wind of Baku, the hot sun, the smell of oil. Baku Boulevard Exhibition is a joint project of the Faculty of Arts and the Seaside Boulevard Office of the Academy. Traditionally, our students have a plein air experience here, share their feelings and thoughts against the background of the magnificent views of the Boulevard, and form a new view of its famous places.
- Karimova noted that the vitality of the historical material, the individual attitude of the authors to the plots are observed in the paintings and graphics created on the basis of unique photo series presented by the Seaside Boulevard Department, which always cooperates with the Academy. Compilations belonging to this group sometimes change the plot, add new elements to the composition. In the second direction, the results of the experiments organized by the Department of Fine Arts on the Seaside Boulevard during the 2020-2021 academic year are presented. Lyrical approach unites short-term outdoor studies. However, the individual manners propagated in the works, the belonging of relatives, the choice of angles and styles, along with the acquisition of technical skills by our students, also determine their creative sparks.
Another coordinator of the project, director of the State Flag Museum Konul Imamverdiyeva spoke about the importance of the exhibition and wished the continuation of such projects.
Then, the students whose works were displayed at the exhibition were awarded a certificate by the rector of the Academy, and their teachers were awarded a letter of appreciation. At the same time, a letter of thanks was presented to the management of the Seaside Boulevard Office for its support.
It should be noted that the proceeds from the charity exhibition will be transferred to the account of the YASHAT Foundation.
