Gabala: The latest feature in AZERTAC's "If I Were a Tourist" column highlights the lavender fields in Azerbaijan's Gabala district. Recognized as one of Azerbaijan's tourism gems, Gabala is an enchanting destination where ancient history meets breathtaking nature. Throughout the year-from the awakening of spring to the snow-covered landscapes of winter-the district reveals its beauty in ever-changing colors. For this reason, thousands of local and international tourists visit Gabala each year to relax and immerse themselves in its natural splendor.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, one of the highlights of Gabala's picturesque landscape is the "Essenso Garden" agritourism center, located in the village of Chukhur. Established in 2018 on a 30-hectare site, the center successfully combines agriculture with tourism. It cultivates lavender and other aromatic plants while producing natural lavender oil and a variety of eco-friendly products.
During the tourism season, which runs from mid-May to the end of October, the expansive lavender fields resemble a sea of purple blossoms. Other plants across the area add fresh and vibrant hues to this captivating natural landscape. Decorative and themed photo zones, popular among visitors, showcase the beauty of Gabala to a wider audience through social media.
As the sun sets below the horizon, the golden rays reflecting across the purple fields transform the landscape into a masterpiece worthy of an artist's brush. Visitors say these fairytale moments remain with them long after their trip, living on not only in photographs but also in their memories.
Filled with the soothing fragrance of lavender, this peaceful and seemingly endless landscape offers an unforgettable travel experience that captivates the senses and leaves every visitor with lasting memories.
