Baku: Israel's foreign minister is accompanied by a large delegation. A business forum between the two countries has been taking place since this morning, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov said at a joint press conference with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Israel, Gideon Sa'ar, APA reports.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the minister noted that the last meeting of the intergovernmental economic commission was held in Israel last year. He highlighted that 124 Israeli companies are actively operating and implementing projects in Azerbaijan. Traditionally, the energy sector is one of the main and leading areas of cooperation.
In 2025, for the first time, relations went beyond energy resources, and SOCAR acquired a 10% stake for the first time in a gas project being implemented off Israel's Mediterranean coast. Transport, agriculture, and high technologies are considered areas of particular importance. At the same time, both parties exchanged views on prospects and opportunities for Israeli businessmen in Azerbaijan, as well as on joint access to the Central Asian market.
