AccessBank and EBRD Host Trade Finance Event in Baku

Baku:An educational event on foreign and domestic trade and trade finance was held as part of the Trade Acceleration Programme (TAP), implemented by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in partnership with AccessBank and with the support of the European Union.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the event brought together around 70 participants, including over 50 small and medium-sized business (SME) customers of AccessBank, as well as representatives from government agencies, business associations, and international organizations. The main goal was to enhance entrepreneurs' understanding of international trade, raise awareness of trade finance opportunities, and support local companies in accessing foreign markets.

The event featured presentations and an interactive panel discussion with representatives from the EBRD, AccessBank, the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijan Banking and Finance Training Center (ABFTC), and the Association of Azerbaijan Customs Representatives and Logistics Companies (AGTL).

During the discussions, participants received detailed information on trade finance instruments, access to working capital, regulatory updates, customs and logistics processes, and available support opportunities for exporting and importing companies. They also shared practical experiences, discussed current issues related to international trade operations, and had the opportunity to establish new business connections.

The Trade Acceleration Programme (TAP) is part of the cooperation between the EBRD and AccessBank under the Trade Facilitation Programme (TFP), aiming to improve the knowledge of AccessBank's SME customers in foreign and domestic trade and trade finance, and inform them about financial instruments and support mechanisms for international trade operations.
