Baku: ACG completed drilling of seven oil producer and two gas injector wells in the first six months of 2026, marking a significant achievement for the company. In addition to these, three water injector wells were also drilled, as reported by bp Azerbaijan to AZERTAC.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, one of the most notable achievements was the completion of well C44 from the West Azeri platform, which stands as the first multilateral well ever drilled in the Caspian Sea. This well was delivered safely and was completed 30 days ahead of schedule, with the drilling and completion phases surpassing planned timelines.
The introduction of multilateral well technology in ACG is considered a vital advancement towards maximizing oil recovery and sustaining long-term production from this mature asset. By the end of June 2026, ACG had 150 oil wells in production, with 51 wells utilized for water injection and 11 for gas injection.
