A protest action on the Lachin road, passing near the city of Shusha, continues for the 15th day of the protest action of Azerbaijani civil activists. Participants protest against the illegal exploitation of the natural resources of Karabakh by the separatists and demand that representatives of the state structures of Azerbaijan be allowed into the mines.

Due to the refusal of the Armenians to comply with this demand, the road from Karabakh is blocked for the export of raw materials from the mines and weapons wire. The passage for citizens and humanitarian cargo is free. However, the Karabakh separatists do not agree with this regime and demand that there be no checks on the road.

On Monday morning cars and trucks of Russian peacekeepers passed without hindrance. The day before, 10 trucks with food and medicine arrived from Armenia in Khankyandi. There were no incidents or delays.

President Ilham Aliyev also touched upon the situation in the Lachin corridor the day before.

“This is our legal right. Our natural resources are being exploited and taken away. Those who exploit these natural resources, according to international law, are criminals, because this is our territory, and this illegal activity must be stopped,” Aliyev said, stressing that no pressure on Azerbaijan will change Baku’s position
