Shusha: Media literacy is one of the most important skills of the 21st century. Because you may read and write, but not understand what you read correctly, Shafag Mehraliyeva, Faculty member of the Communication and Digital Media Program at the ADA University said during her speech at the III Shusha Global Media Forum dedicated to the topic “Digital Pathways: Strengthening Information and Media Resilience in the Age of AI”, APA’s correspondent dispatched to Shusha reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Mehraliyeva emphasized that media literacy involves not just receiving information, but also the ability to interpret, discuss, and analyze it in an atmosphere of tolerance and mutual respect. She stressed the importance of instilling these skills in classrooms to ensure future generations are stronger and more united in navigating the information environment.

Mehraliyeva pointed out that the lack of critical thinking skills and unity in the current information environment poses a serious problem. She expressed concern that insufficient analysis of information could result in psychological distress among young people.
