ADY and Georgia’s Logistics Leaders Discuss Strategic Cooperation Prospects

Baku: Rovshan Rustamov, Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (ADY), a part of AZCON Holding, recently engaged in discussions with the management teams of PACE Group-Georgia's premier logistics company overseeing terminal operations at the Port of Poti-and Batumi Sea Port, as reported by Azerbaijan Railways to AZERTAC.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the conversations underscored the significance of enhancing cooperation between the logistics firms and seaports of Azerbaijan and Georgia. As the delegation from ADY reviewed port operations, they received insights into the advanced infrastructure at Batumi and Poti ports on the Black Sea, which is capable of managing diverse cargo types.

Rovshan Rustamov emphasized that Azerbaijan's rail-port operations are now governed under a unified management system. He highlighted the successful incorporation of the Port of Baku into ADY last year, which positively influenced the port's cargo throughput. Specifically, in 2025, the Port of Baku achieved a record cargo volume, handling over 107,000 TEU of container cargo, marking a 40 percent increase from 2024.

The discussions further pointed out that strengthening cooperation and sharing expertise between the ports of Baku and Georgia would facilitate more efficient management of the increasing freight volumes traversing the Middle Corridor.
