Baku: The 'Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Republic of Serbia on the development, design, construction and operation of a gas turbine power plant in the Republic of Serbia' has been approved, APA reports. President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree in this regard.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, once the agreement comes into effect, the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan is responsible for executing its provisions. Additionally, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan is tasked with notifying the Government of the Republic of Serbia upon the completion of the necessary domestic procedures for the agreement to take effect.
Furthermore, the 'Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Republic of Serbia on cooperation in the field of food safety' has also received approval. Once this agreement becomes active, the Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency will be responsible for ensuring its implementation. Similar to the previous agreement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan will send a notification to the Government of the Republic of Serbia after domestic procedures are finalized.
Both agreements were signed in Belgrade on February 15, 2026.
