Baku: Trkiye's Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Alparslan Bayraktar, underscored the importance of establishing reliable regulatory frameworks in the energy sector to facilitate the region's energy transition. Speaking at the 31st Baku Energy Forum, Bayraktar emphasized the necessity of substantial investments to harness the region's renewable energy potential.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Bayraktar highlighted that securing financing is a crucial factor in implementing these investments. He stated that to attract investment, it is essential to strengthen energy infrastructure and create predictable regulatory environments.
Bayraktar further remarked that Trkiye is actively participating in the energy transition, moving beyond a passive role. He noted that as of March this year, Trkiye's total installed power generation capacity has surpassed 125 gigawatts, with more than 60% of this capacity coming from renewable energy sources.
He also pointed out Trkiye's progress in wind and solar energy, which has significantly expanded from nearly zero to over 41 gigawatts in the past two decades. These achievements, he said, are a testament to the effectiveness of sound energy policies.
