Baku: Ambassador Lu Mei, representing the People's Republic of China, has announced that China is prepared to actively engage in the international events that Azerbaijan will host. This statement was made during a briefing where the ambassador emphasized the promising agenda for China-Azerbaijan relations, which will span diplomatic, parliamentary, political party, economic-trade, and humanitarian cooperation.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Ambassador Lu Mei highlighted that strengthening cooperation with Azerbaijan is a significant aspect of China's foreign policy. This year, China plans to participate actively in the international events scheduled in Azerbaijan.

The ambassador detailed that in 2026, Azerbaijan is set to host several major international forums. These include the annual session of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), the 13th session of the World Urban Forum, and the summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA). China's participation is anticipated to be significant in these events.

Ambassador Lu Mei also expressed Beijing's hope to collaborate with Baku in strengthening the traditional friendship between the two nations. The ambassador emphasized the importance of implementing agreements reached at the heads of state level to bolster the comprehensive strategic partnership and expand cooperation in multiple fields.
