American Traveler Praises Restoration Efforts in Shusha

Shusha: The way Azerbaijan is restoring its liberated territories is fantastic, said Charles Willey, a tourist from the U.S. state of California, during his visit to the city of Shusha.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Willey has been visiting the region for four years since the liberation of Karabakh. He has observed reconstruction efforts in both Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur. Willey noted the impressive development of infrastructure, including the construction of three airports, numerous highways, and railways.

Willey reflected on the transformation of Shusha, recalling how, four years ago, the city’s walls were in disrepair. Now, he describes Shusha as perfect, highlighting the new five-star hotel as an emblem of its renewal. He also expressed optimism about the region’s future, especially in light of President Ilham Aliyev’s recent meeting with the Armenian leader in Abu Dhabi, which he believes could pave the way for economic success and peace in the region.
