Baku: Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev has addressed reports regarding the potential closure of Russian-language sections in schools. Speaking at the ‘Certification 2025: Professional Teacher – Quality Education’ event held at ADA University, the minister clarified that there are no plans to shut down these sections in Azerbaijan.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Minister Amrullayev emphasized the importance of relying on official information in such matters. He confirmed that Russian-language sections continue to operate and achieve good results. The minister highlighted that all schools in the country are fundamentally Azerbaijani schools, and proficiency in the Azerbaijani language is essential. However, he also noted the significance of children learning Russian and other languages, stressing that learning additional languages should not come at the expense of the state language.
