Baku: 'At a time when geopolitical tensions and conflicts dominate the agendas of world leaders, the World Urban Forum has once again demonstrated its role as the leading global platform on sustainable urbanization and human settlements,' said Amina Mohammed, Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, in her remarks at the official closing press conference of the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13).
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Amina Mohammed expressed gratitude to Azerbaijan, UN-Habitat, and all partners for the successful organization of WUF13. She highlighted that the forum united a wide range of stakeholders-from governments and civil society to youth, women's groups, academia, and the private sector-around a common vision for urban development.
Amina Mohammed emphasized the significance of the Baku discussions, which confirmed housing as a global issue that requires local solutions. She called for housing policies that are grounded in human dignity, sustainability, and people-centered development, underlining the forum's crucial role in addressing urban challenges.
